O futuro contínuo (will be + -ing) descreve uma ação que estará em andamento num momento futuro ("estarei trabalhando"); o futuro perfeito (will have + particípio) descreve uma ação que já estará concluída antes de um prazo futuro ("terei terminado") — a palavra-chave dele é by.

FUTURO CONTÍNUO:  WILL BE + VERBO-ING

This time next year,  I  will be living     in London.
Nessa época ano que vem, eu estarei morando em Londres.

FUTURO PERFEITO:  WILL HAVE + PARTICÍPIO (3ª coluna)

By December,  we  will have saved    enough money.
Até dezembro, nós teremos economizado dinheiro suficiente.

As duas formas são iguais para todas as pessoas — não existe will has nem will is. O will congela o resto da frase.

Futuro contínuo: os 3 usos¶

1. Ação em andamento num momento específico do futuro (o uso principal)

É a "foto do futuro": você se imagina num momento e descreve o que estará acontecendo.

This time tomorrow, we will be flying to New York. — Amanhã a essa hora, estaremos voando para Nova York.
At 9am on Monday, I will be sitting in my first class. — Às 9h de segunda, estarei sentada na minha primeira aula.

2. Evento futuro já "encaminhado" (curso natural das coisas)

Para falar de algo que vai acontecer porque já está planejado/é rotina — sem ideia de intenção ou promessa:

I will be working on Saturday, so I can't come. — Vou estar trabalhando sábado (já está na escala).
We will be staying with friends for the first week. — Vamos ficar na casa de amigos na primeira semana.

3. Pergunta educada sobre planos (sem pressionar)

Will you be using...? soa mais neutro que Will you use...? — você só quer informação, não está pedindo nada:

Will* you be using* the car tonight? — Você vai estar usando o carro hoje à noite? (só perguntando, talvez eu queira pegar emprestado)
Will* you be coming* to the barbecue? — Você vai aparecer no churrasco?

Futuro perfeito: olhar para trás a partir do futuro¶

O futuro perfeito posiciona você num ponto futuro olhando para trás: até lá, a ação já vai ter acontecido. Quase sempre vem com um prazo:

By 2028, Ana will have finished her course. — Até 2028, a Ana terá terminado o curso.
By the time you arrive, I will have cooked dinner. — Quando você chegar, eu já terei feito o jantar.
We will have been in London for a year by next November. — Em novembro que vem, vamos ter completado um ano em Londres.

A palavra-chave: by¶

By = "até (no máximo)" — marca o prazo antes do qual a ação estará completa. É o gatilho clássico do futuro perfeito:

Expressão	Tradução	Exemplo
by + momento	até	I'll have packed everything by Friday. — Terei empacotado tudo até sexta.
by the time + presente	quando / até a hora que	By the time we land, we'll have watched three movies. — Quando a gente pousar, já teremos visto três filmes.
by then	até lá	Call me at 6 — I'll have finished by then. — Até lá eu já terei terminado.
in + tempo + 's time	daqui a	In two years' time, we'll have adapted to life here. — Daqui a dois anos, já teremos nos adaptado à vida aqui.

⚠️ Depois de by the time, o verbo fica no presente, nunca com will: by the time you arrive (não ~~will arrive~~) — mesma regra do when/if nas frases de tempo.

Will do × will be doing × will have done¶

Os três no mesmo cenário, para sentir a diferença:

Forma	Frase	O que diz
will do	I will study tonight.	Fato/decisão: vou estudar hoje à noite.
will be doing	At 8pm, I will be studying.	Foto do momento: às 20h estarei no meio do estudo.
will have done	By 10pm, I will have studied for two hours.	Balanço: até as 22h, terei estudado 2 horas.

O contínuo está dentro da ação; o perfeito está depois dela, olhando para trás.

E o futuro perfeito contínuo? (will have been doing)¶

Forma de luxo, rara mas útil para destacar a duração até um ponto futuro:

By July, I will have been studying English for a year. — Em julho, vou fazer um ano que estudo inglês.
Next month, he will have been working there for five years. — Mês que vem, ele completa cinco anos trabalhando lá.

É o present perfect continuous (N3-04) projetado para o futuro. Reconheça-a; para produzir, o futuro perfeito simples já resolve quase tudo.

Tradução: o português ajuda (dessa vez)¶

As duas formas têm equivalente direto — o problema é que no Brasil quase ninguém as usa falando, então o instinto não dispara:

Inglês	Português formal	Como o brasileiro fala
I will be working.	Estarei trabalhando.	"Vou estar trabalhando."
I will have finished.	Terei terminado.	"Já vou ter terminado."

Macete: se na sua cabeça cabe um "já vou ter + particípio", é futuro perfeito. Se cabe "vou estar + -ndo", é futuro contínuo.

Pegadinhas e erros comuns de brasileiros¶

Will dentro da frase de tempo — ❌ By the time you will arrive, I will have left. → ✅ By the time you arrive, I will have left. (depois de by the time/when, presente simples)
Conjugar o have — ❌ She will has finished. → ✅ She will have finished. (depois de will, sempre forma base)
Usar will simples onde cabe o contínuo — ❌ Don't call at 7, I will have dinner. (soa decisão) → ✅ I will be having dinner. (estarei jantando — ação em andamento)
Particípio errado — ❌ We will have went. → ✅ We will have gone. (will have + 3ª coluna, igual ao present perfect)
Verbo de estado no contínuo — ❌ By then I will be knowing the city. → ✅ By then I will know the city. (know, like, believe etc. não vão para -ing)

Auto-teste¶

Complete: This time next week, we ______ (fly) to Tokyo.
Complete: By the end of the course, she ______ (write) more than twenty essays.
Certo ou errado: "By the time we will get home, the game will have started."
Traduza: "Em dezembro, vamos ter completado seis meses morando no exterior."
Will be doing ou will have done? Don't come at 3pm — I ______ (have) my English class at that time.
